Mild steel box bar in 3″ × 3″ section with a 1.6 mm wall — a heavy section, used for main gate frames, structural posts, canopy and roof frames, stair supports and machine bases.

This is a strong gauge, for work that carries load or lives outdoors — gates, security grilles, racking, canopy frames. The extra wall thickness also means it rusts through far more slowly.
