Aluminiam Sheet 8X4 (1.0mm)

An 8 × 4 ft aluminium sheet, 1.0 mm thick. A full millimetre is the sturdy grade — for cladding, trays, covers and panels that have to hold their shape without a frame behind them.

Aluminium does not rust, which is why it is used for outdoor cladding, kitchen and food-area panels, ducting and anywhere near the coast where steel sheet would not last.

It cuts with aviation snips or a fine-tooth blade, and it bends cleanly — but it work-hardens, so a bend that is straightened and re-bent will crack.
