Filter Tap

A filter tap — a tap with a filter element built into the body, fitted at the kitchen sink to improve the taste and clarity of drinking water.

It takes out sediment, rust particles and much of the chlorine taste. It is not a purifier: for bacteriological safety you still need boiling or a proper treatment unit.

The element is a consumable — a filter left in past its life does less than no filter at all, because the trapped material sits in the flow.
