JAT wood putty in the teak shade, 500 g pack. It fills nail holes, hairline cracks, chipped edges and open joints in timber so the surface takes polish or varnish evenly.
Press it in slightly proud, let it dry, then sand flush. Match the shade to the timber rather than to the finish — teak suits teak and most light-to-mid brown hardwoods. Test on an offcut first, because polish darkens putty as well as wood.
