A spark plug spanner — a deep socket sized for spark plugs, with a rubber insert that grips the ceramic so the plug comes out with the tool instead of dropping into the engine bay.
Spark plugs need to be tightened by feel, not force: over-tightening strips the head thread, which is a far bigger repair than the plug. Snug plus a small nip is enough on a plug with a new washer.
Check the plug gap before fitting — a plug straight from the box is not always at the gap your engine wants.
